Common privacy questions

What personal information do you actually collect?

Three buckets:

Directly from you: name, address, phone, email, order details, account credentials and customer-support messages.

Automatically as you browse: device, browser, IP and usage data via cookies and pixels.

From third parties: our payment processors and platform partners (e.g. Shopify) provide info needed to fulfil and protect your order.

Do you sell my information?

For advertising and marketing purposes we have “sold” or “shared” (as those terms are defined in applicable law) basic identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (orders) and usage data with our business and marketing partners.

We do not sell or disclose sensitive personal information without your consent, and we don’t use it to infer characteristics about you.

You can opt out at any time — including via Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor automatically.

How do I delete my data?

Email info@foldifycase.com with “Data deletion request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity (usually with the email tied to your account) before processing the request, and we’ll respond in the timeframe required by your local privacy law.

How do I opt out of marketing emails?

Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email and you’re out. We may still send you transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, refund receipts) since those relate to your purchase.

Do you collect data from children?

The Services are not intended for children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from minors. As of the effective date of this Policy, we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal info of individuals under 16.

If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child has shared info with us, contact us and we’ll delete it.

What cookies do you use?

We use cookies, pixels and similar tech to power the store, remember your preferences, run analytics, and tailor advertising. Shopify’s storefront cookies are documented at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

You can block or remove cookies via your browser, but parts of the Site may not work as expected. We also recognise the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request.

How is my payment information handled?

Payment data (card, bank info, billing address) is collected and processed by our payment processors — not stored on our servers. Card information is always encrypted in transit, and we only see what we need to fulfil and reconcile the order.

What happens to my data if I’m outside the US or Australia?

Your personal information may be transferred, stored and processed outside your country of residence. If we transfer data out of Europe, we rely on recognised mechanisms like the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (or UK equivalents) unless the destination country provides an adequate level of protection.

How We Collect & Use Your Personal Information

To provide the Services, we collect (and have collected over the past 12 months) personal information about you from a variety of sources, set out below. The information we collect and use varies depending on how you interact with us. In addition to the specific uses set out below, we may use information we collect about you to communicate with you, provide or improve the Services, comply with applicable legal obligations, enforce any applicable terms of service and protect or defend the Services, our rights and the rights of our users or others.

What Personal Information We Collect

The types of personal information we obtain about you depends on how you interact with our Site and use our Services. When we use the term “personal information”, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes or can be associated with you.

Information We Collect Directly from You

Information you directly submit to us through our Services may include:

  • Contact details — your name, address, phone number and email.
  • Order information — your name, billing address, shipping address, payment confirmation, email address and phone number.
  • Account information — your username, password, security questions and other information used for account security purposes.
  • Customer support information — the information you choose to include when contacting us, for example when sending a message through the Services.

Some features may require you to provide certain information about yourself. You may decline, but doing so may prevent you from using or accessing those features.

Information We Collect About Your Usage

We may also automatically collect certain information about your interaction with the Services (“Usage Data”). To do this, we may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies (“Cookies”). Usage Data may include information about how you access and use our Site and your account, including device information, browser information, network connection details, your IP address and other information regarding your interaction with the Services.

Information We Obtain from Third Parties

We may obtain information about you from third parties, including from vendors and service providers who may collect information on our behalf, such as:

  • Companies who support our Site and Services, such as Shopify.
  • Our payment processors, who collect payment information (e.g. bank account, credit or debit card information, billing address) to process your payment, fulfil orders and provide you with the products or services you have requested.
  • When you visit our Site, open or click on emails we send you, or interact with our Services or advertisements, we (or third parties we work with) may automatically collect certain information using online tracking technologies such as pixels, web beacons, software developer kits, third-party libraries and cookies.

Any information we obtain from third parties will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. See also Third-Party Websites and Links below.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Cookies

Like many websites, we use Cookies on our Site. For specific information about Shopify-related cookies, see shopify.com/legal/cookies. We use Cookies to power and improve our Site and our Services (including remembering your actions and preferences), to run analytics and better understand user interaction, and we may permit third-party service providers to use Cookies on our Site to better tailor the services, products and advertising on our Site and other websites.

Most browsers automatically accept Cookies by default, but you can choose to set your browser to remove or reject Cookies through your browser controls. Please keep in mind that removing or blocking Cookies can negatively impact your user experience and may cause some features to no longer be available. Blocking Cookies may not completely prevent how we share information with third parties such as our advertising partners.

Our website also recognises the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which lets you opt out of certain uses or disclosures of your information. If you notify us through GPC, we treat the signal as a valid request to opt out of sharing / targeted advertising for the associated browser or device, and where we can associate the signal with a Shopify account we’ll apply the opt-out at the account level. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. Other than GPC, we do not recognise other “Do Not Track” signals.
